At least it's never reported in China even no discussion about the possibility and feasibility. Well I respect their choice in either way and I will update the progress if I see any news from China side. Edited in 1 hour: News goes fast. Chinese fans also noticed this shocking news through the IG account below. Don't know how trustworthy it is yet. It's too good to be true still. After media report it, the whole thing progresses really fast. Chinese media reached Liu Brother's mother and confirmed they will change nationality to China. Also Hungarian skating federation agree to their application of nationality change on condition that repay training expense of around $250,000-$375,000 US dollar each to Hungarian skating federation. In exchange they will be suspended for a relatively short time.
phelps 6,860 Posted January 25, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 25, 2023 here we go again... Arianna Fontana vs the Italian Ice Sports Federation, chapter #9762 almost 12 months after the Gold Medal won in Beijing, our GOAT speedskating specialist goes again wild against our ice sports federation (FISG), because she says that they have not fulfilled any of the promises they made at the end of last season. even worse, those who were the target of her previous attack are still there as trainers and officials of our NT. therefore, the relationship between her and the federation (and the NT staff) is now definitively compromised. she also said that she's been following her husband (former speedskater Anthony Lobello) in the last few weeks/months in his US tour, which means that most likely, if her husband will be hired in the coaching staff of the US team, she's going to switch Nationality and compete for the as soon as possible. the source (in Italian): https://www.oasport.it/2023/01/short-track-arianna-fontana-cambia-nazionalita-fiducia-nello-staff-tecnico-e-federale-irrecuperabile/?refresh_ce

phelps 6,860 Posted January 29, 2023 #15 Share Posted January 29, 2023 South Korea as expected dominated the field with 6 Gold Medals out of 8 races. Canada and the surprising Polish team also did very well, winning the 2 remaining Gold medals (1 each, of course) and not only that. China (1 Silver, 2 Bronze), USA (1 Silver, 1 Bronze), Japan (1 Silver) and Hungary (1 Bronze) complete the very small list of Nations that made the final medal table. pretty disappointing performance by Italy and the Netherlands, coming home with a clean sheet (and in this case it's not a good achievement). Jinzha 529 Posted January 29, 2023 #16 Share Posted January 29, 2023 Wow that is a disappointing performance by the squad. I believe Angel Daleman and Jenning de Boo had already won medals at the junior world championship last year and they were in the team again this year. Daleman is still only 15 I believe and she's probably our biggest speed skating talent both long track and short track.

She got a penalty in the 500m, and was drawn with two Koreans in the semi of the 1.500m and the 1.000m quarter finals.
Vic Liu 1,592 Posted March 24, 2023 #18 Share Posted March 24, 2023 All speculations about Liu Brothers are clear now. They will participate Chinese national championships on 2023/03/31-2023/04/02 and represented Team Tianjin where their father is from. This event is also served as trials of national team for next season. Their performance will definitely be the spot light of the event and they need it to convince fans and team. phelps, heywoodu and Josh 2
