james89 438 Posted September 10, 2023 #12 Share Posted September 10, 2023 I knew we wouldn’t do well but this is even worse than I expected. Josh
Surlympics 186 Posted September 11, 2023 #13 Share Posted September 11, 2023 What exactly happened ? It use to be one of our top sports . Not even one medal at these championships . Netherlands, Britain and Romania absolutely destroyed

Netherlands, Britain and Romania absolutely destroyed Not to mention the pathetic amount of boats/athletes (2 and 10 respectively) qualified for Paris, and a missed chance at the Continental Qualifiers, where Trevor Jones would have most likely secured a quota in men's single sculls. Only positive was Moffat/Casson in women's double sculls, who finished fourth. At the Final Qualification Regatta, I'm hoping we can qualify another 3-6 boats, but it's looking quite unlikely at the moment.

It absolutely seems like the right call to focus on fewer crews but ensuring they have the best possible chances but really was expecting Trevor Jones to compete in the men's single. intoronto 4,201 Posted April 8 Author #18 Share Posted April 8 Stunning. Max 4 boats out of 14. Where is Trevor Jones?
JoshMartini007 2,202 Posted April 8 #19 Share Posted April 8 So sad to see what was once one of our top sports being reduced to just a few boats. orangeman
intoronto 4,201 Posted April 8 Author #20 Share Posted April 8 The coaching staff probably feel the men's eight is the best chance of qualifying/medalling which makes sense since none qualified. But no Trevor Jones makes 0 sense Rowing Canada needs to let go of upper management asap. Last few cycles this has not worked.
