Yes, IIHF decided to change the format after Japan beat Finland  So Finland will stay in Group A and Japan will play Group B despite their huge celebrations after the match :p

IIHF being IIHF, I thought nothing will beat the World Ranking free 1000 points for 3rd place which will :RUS collect every year despite not playing, but here they just moved another step  above. Ofc I understand nobody would guessed that Finland can finish under 5th place until today, but now when it happened, logically a big Alarm started to ring the IIHF office

Obviously it is better for the sport fans and for the level of game to have :FIN in Group A, no doubt about, but when the rules were clear before the match and were for everyone the same, you just can not change them after the last match just because ythe fav team did not succeed to fullfil the required criteria, nobody can take IIHF seriously anymore.

Poor Japanese girls, dancing and celebrating just to find out they were robbed by their own international federation at the end
