Definitley most excited for short track. I’m a little surprised Hamelin didn’t get chosen for the 1000m but I really get the sense that becoming a parent has made him more appreciative of the experience as a whole.

Charles Hamelin is not competing on day 1 at all - he wasn't chosen for the mixed relay either. The pool for that event is Courtney Sarault, Florence Brunelle, Kim Boutin, Steven Dubois, Jordan Pierre-Gilles and Pascal Dion.

Also, on a related note, best medal chance for :NBR is today :P

Especially surprising since he cited the 1000m as a big motivation for continuing until 2022.

I’m surprised he’s not part of the relay squad for today. I’m really hoping they can pull off something special.

Excited for the big stuff to finally begin! What's everyone looking forward to? I will personally be trying to catch all of the medal events but will be most interested in seeing whether or not Kingsbury can defend his title.

Men's moguls is obviously the highlight of the day from a Canadian perspective, and Q1 went really well for Canada. Kingsbury qualified first by a comfortable margin while :JPN Ikuma Horishima, the only skier who can really beat Kingsbury without relying on Kingsbury making a mistake, had a big struggle in Q1.
