Topicmaster1010 2,336 Posted September 5, 2022 #131 Share Posted September 5, 2022 If anyone's interested, I compiled the best times 3 times in each event from the European Juniors, Pan-Pacific Juniors, and the World European Juniors. Non-olympic events weren't contested at Pan-Pacs so I'm skipping those. I think China is the only major country that didn't compete at any of the 3 events so this should mostly give an idea of what a full junior world championship medal table would look like. There's a few notable juniors that didn't compete. This was especially true at the Pan-Pacs because swimmers that competed at the world championships weren't allowed to compete there. At this point, I'm too lazy to compile a list of absent junior swimmers so if anybody wants to do that, that would be appreciated. Men's 50m Freestyle: 1. Diogo RIBEIRO, 21.92 2. Despite this Australia selects their team using the FINA junior rules so none of their girls are overage. In particular Erin Gemmell is no longer a junior by FINA rules. When and where did he go 21.64? Because that seems very strange for a 200 flyer and I see no record of it anywhere.

phelps 6,785 Posted September 5, 2022 #139 Share Posted September 5, 2022 as expected, the women's rankings are quite different from the junior events results we've seen through the year, as we have a couple of senior world champions still in the age of the junior class. Most prominent name is surely Summer McIntosh, dominating good 5 disciplines, but also Benedetta Pilato (100m breastroke world and european champion) and a few more senior world (and / or continental) medallists like Katie Grimes that didn't participate to any of the junior events this year. meanwhile the 3/4 most promising men (Popovici above all, but also Masiuk, Whittle and Coetze) still in the junior class of 2022 did take part into the main junior events of the season.
