JoshMartini007 2,210 Posted January 18, 2023 #131 Share Posted January 18, 2023 I'd like to repeat that from an Olympic qualifier point of view, not having an 9-12 ranking matches was a dumb move. The third place team in Group IV has a huge advantage. With teams like Bahrain, Belgium and the United States they are able to run-up the goal differential and finish 9th and be in an excellent position to qualify to the final Olympic qualification event. Of course we could have a third place team in a different group end with a 4W-1L record.

How does this qualification for OQT works exactly? Here's the link Currently the format has the top six unqualified nations at the World Championships qualifying to one of three tournaments. Since Oceania won't finish in the top 12, the two best performing continents at the World Championships (likely Europe and Africa) will qualify two teams from their respective continental qualifier while the other two continents will only qualify one team. nenad

Vektor 3,195 Posted January 18, 2023 #138 Share Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) Our group is getting very spicy. Thanks to Brazil we still have a chance even if we lose against Sweden today, which is expected. We obviously have to beat and to stay alive, the rest is up to the other teams. 6 points might be enough for us (or for any team in our group) to reach a OQT spot. I think top2 of the group will be and in the end as it was expected. The v match will decide the 3rd spot in the group. rybak 2,694 Posted January 18, 2023 #139 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Good first 20 minutes for us in match against Spain, and then, as usually our game collapsed... Adriano
Vektor 3,195 Posted January 18, 2023 #140 Share Posted January 18, 2023 No chance whatsoever against Sweden, our only hope is that they will fall asleep in the second half. thepharoah
