hckošice 13,217 Posted October 11, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2021 It would be better if Osrblie will have the chance to finally host also a world cup. I feel like the venue is year after year trying to get some plus points in the eyes of IBU by its non stop replacing other venues in the Ibu cup policy, but somehow will never be rewarded... Monzanator 3,593 Posted October 11, 2021 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2021 I still remember Osrblie hosting World Cup in the 1990s. The Duszniki-Zdroj venue is undergoing an ownwership change which for some reason resulted in the IBU Cup calendar drop.

I bet they simply do not have some of the things necessary for a WC stop.

Osrblie has the A license for the next 4 seasons, this is not a problem, the issue is money to buy a stage and time when the stage will have to be, there simply no room for Osrblie to host the world cup, last time it was in 2003, as all nine stages are occupied by almost the same locations year after year.... Your are right, there are about 12 venues at most that have a chance of a WC stage. I doubt that Canmore and Soldier Hollow get one again for a while. With about 6 there every year, that does not leave much space. With Lenzeheide moving into the rotation, at least for now, there will be even fewer. At least it's magnificent Lenzerheide that is added in instead of, you know, non-Lenzerheide Obertilliach would be awesome as well, but it's a tad too small I think. If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
