And then official results from the second semi turned out to be app. -0.1 sec faster than the first unnoficial ones, so our commentators kept saying that there might have been sth wrong with the timing as well.

Hope they are wrong here. Those were too excellent runs by her, both in the semi and in the final.

Michael Johnson former :USA champion said the same and got absolutely pelted for it from :NGR Twitter. Turns out there was nothing wrong with the timings (or so it seems)

and 13 Gold for USA is suspiciuos

Will you ever give it a break :d everything the west does is bad or suspicious to you - 5 of the golds were relays anyway and it's a team full of stars at the same time other teams like :JAM and :GBR have had some big names retire/injured

If there were issues with the timing system they'll never admit it because it could undermine many of the other performances at the meet.

I haven't watched it live but it looks like Polish TV was so focused on some boring people talking in the studio that they missed Tobi Amusan WR in the live broadcast last night... ehh...

Wow. For the Dutch fans it was a gift from heaven to have this time schedule, with the main sessions being roughly from 02.00 to 05.00 CET. I think NOS didn't think it'd be worth having some expert in a studio or something*, so much to everyone's positive suprise, they had no studio program at all and simply were live with sports for the full three hours :hyper: Reporter introduced the session for two minutes or so and closed it off at the end, and there were a few semi-live interviews in between, but that was it and mostly that was timed in between events. I couldn't believe my eyes, normally NOS misses half of the stuff during big events like this to talk about...well, things :d

*they did have a program of around one hour every evening at 19.00 I think, showing the previous night's session's highlights, but I didn't really watch that since I had seen all that anyway

I don't know if this has been shared already but it's an interesting article.

Despite huge success at world championships, track popularity lags in U.S.

No surprise they won't be heading back to Eugene which should never have hosted to begin with.

They better first go to Nairobi or something.

no chance they can go in the big cities...

first, they have no large, modern and all-featured athletics stadiums (even the Coliseum in L.A. will be a one-week wonder for athletics and it'll be back to football configuration)...

second, they will draw a lot less interest among the residents than in Eugene, which is still the cradle of US athletics, despite all the troubles of the last few years...

They drew interest in Eugene? I think I missed that :p
