    Italy were 5th at the last Olympics and 5th in Budapest last summer (as well as 5th in Doha), both in 7:03-something. Yes, China and South Korea were faster in Doha, but that WC is not necessarily a good guide as to who will perform in Paris because we just don't know who was tapered. I certainly wouldn't be ruling Italy out of the running.

    There's very little Olympic sport that I won't watch and enjoy, so I would be here all day if I tried to list them. Cycling, Athletics, Rugby and Climbing are all always near the top if there is a clash because they are some of the sports I've taken part in a decent amount myself over the decades.

    yes, this year there's 1 place less in the endurance team it should be the 4 of the team pursuit (Ganna, Milan, Consonni and I guess Lamon, if we want to have a decent start) + Viviani (doing only Omnium and Madison)

    In fact, Quotas for and in Men's K1 has already qualified for the men's K2 and the regulations say that Each National Federation will be able to qualify a maximum of two (2) athlete quota places in each category, that is, Men's Kayaking, Women's Kayaking, Men's Canoeing and Women's Canoeing in Sarasota . Unused athlete quota places will be allocated to the next highest ranked country not yet qualified in the K1 or C1 event of that genre.
