Sorry for the late reply, because I don't follow all the news around this, but apparently in December the new Dutch coach (Bill Huck) was rather clear about Ligtlee: "She is too heavy and she knows it. She's overweight and she'll have to change that, because with this weight she won't be able to deliver world class performances."

So I guess all that is the reason for her not being that good anymore nowadays (logically if you saw her today, like she ate a 10-person lasagna dinner for breakfast).

No problem, wasnt online since thursday ...

To be honest: She always looked overweight to me ...

Today she was actually quiet good, sadly i had to work, so i couldnt watch any races till now.

Overall the Netherlands are doing really well here, Ligtlee probably would have won a medal in sprint, so then it would have looked even better. I think she has the best chance to beat Vogel in the next couple of years.

Very surprising results in mens sprint ...

You know that the level must be very bad when Levy reaches the semifinal ...

What do you guys think, how many of the gold medallists from here will win gold in Tokyo?

I would say something between 4 and 6.

Yep. In Rio 2016 one could explain it as just being really, really muscular overall, but this? No, sorry, but if you're a professional athlete in a sport like this, you can't be that big and have a belly that looks like mine. Still some time to Tokyo, so there's that, but she really needs to work on that to have any chance there.

They rang the bell twice, leading Shmeleva to stop a lap early in the women's keirin semi's
