TENNIS QUALIFICATION

with Rohan bopanna ( currently 11th ) reaching the quarters his chances of reaching the top 10 brighten  ( he has gained 180 points already )

If rohan reaches the semis he will surely overtake Bruno soares ( rank 10th )

If Ivan dodig /Melo pair lose in the next couple of rounds Dodig ( rank 8 )  drops enough points to come behind rohan

most of the others who had similar points to Rohan have dropped out ......currently Roger vesslin ( rank 15 )  is still in the race and if he finishes well ahead of rohan he would overtake rohan ............................

so it seem that rohan has a reasonable chance of reaching top 10 and being guaranteed a place in the doubles at rio

Rohan faces Dodig in Quarters. If they beat them, Rohan will be in top 10 according to my calculations. Dodig will drop points as he is defending champion and he will also past Soares. Then only Vasselin can come ahead of Rohan if they win French Open. So he should finish 9th or 10th.

if Rohan loses, then Dodig and Vasselin should not win French Open for Rohan to be 10th.
