Strange discovery today on the Asian games website. For days, the site has been showing match timings off by half an hour - so a match scheduled for 10 am INA time is shown at 10.30 am !! What's worse - sometimes the time is half an hour ahead & sometimes half an hour behind

BUT...if I change the time zone on the computer from Indian time zone of GMT + 5.30 to say Bangladesh time zone of GMT + 6, then the site starts showing the correct timings !! It still shows INA standard time, but at least it is correct...

So the site basically can't handle a time zone of the form GMT+5.30 (India) or GMT+5.45 (Nepal) - but it can handle hourly time zones like GMT+1, GMT+2 etc...so only few countries like India, Iran, Afghanistan and Nepal face the weird issue - no issue for others..

Unfortunately, that would also mean that the issue is highly unlikely to be fixed - as faced by only few countries. So the only way for us poor Indians is to actually change the time zones on our computers in order to be able to follow with some sanity (After changing the time zone, I changed the time itself again by half an hour so my computer keeps showing the correct Indian time)...

A 22-member India National Team squad will travel to Australia on August 17, 2018 as part of their preparation for the forthcoming SAFF Suzuki Cup.

The Indian U-23 squad will be based at the Valentine Sports Park in Sydney for another 16-day long preparatory camp before they eventually leave for Dhaka on September 1, 2018.

Two Days Before Asian Games, Leander Paes Pulls Out... Reason that there is no double specialist to pair with him:(

Now accreditations are closed, and we can't send in another entry..

Indian tennis cannot progress till these two legends are associated with it. Since a long time, these giants are only concerned about their massive egos. #FedUp

If he would taken the decision earlier, doubles players like Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan , Purav Raja, N Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan would have got opportunities..

Maybe we lost a medal here. Deja vu. It is becoming a very common feature of Leander Paes to play spoilsport before every Olympics. We have lost at least two Olympic medals due to his drama and massive ego. In fact no one in tennis fraternity likes him except Anil Khanna of AITA. With due respect for him due to Atlanta bronze in singles and Davis Cup exploits, it appears that somehow he is pulling himself out of greatness. Look at his contemporaries like Gopi Chand, Mahesh Bhupathi, who have given back to the game through coaching and made many players for India. His behavior is damaging the game in India now. The real pathetic shame is that he knows exactly the situation long before the course of events, if he doesn't like, it should have been expressed with clarity long ago so that a backup player would have been choosen. Even coach Zeeshan Ali does not know his whereabouts ! What nonsense. This is massive churlish behavior and irresponsibility. Someone should fix him up ASAP. I feel sorry for the others. Imagine how an Asian games medal would have supported and fulfilled the careers of players like Jeevan, Purav, Vishnu or Sriram etc who are doing reasonably well these days in doubles circuit.
