Wait, Nigeria has a women's skeleton athlete? I missed that..

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Yes, more about her here.

She was highly competitive in Calgary in November. :d

Oh come on...I mean, I'm all for spreading a sport, but it would just be unfair if she goes and someone like Gilardoni/Flock/Priedulena/Meylemans wouldn't go..

And that's where Netherlands comes in. They have 2 athletes, if only one gets to go then none of the mentioned names will miss out.

The main problem is too few quotas. Women's skeleton is no longer that obscure. They'll probably increase it for the next time, but probably, sadly at the expense of men's skeleton, because that's how IOC operates...

Yes, for the strength of the competition it's pure luck that one of the two Dutch athletes won't make it. And to think women's skeleton has a higher number of realistic podium contenders than men's skeleton..

So the way I calculate the Nigerian just has to finish next week's race in Lake Placid to qualify???

Yes, she needs to race at least 5 races on 3 different tracks to be eligible as an athlete. Otherwise, Nigeria is already guaranteed the African quota place.
