Which should more or less give De Jong a decent chance of making it as well, since the 1500m might well be filled up with already qualified athletes. I guess Wüst and girlfriend De Jong will share a room then, so no more succesful Wüst-Koen Verweij room like in Sochi where they decided to share a room and had a ton of fun :p

I'm sure Wust and de Jong will have a ton of fun rooming together, too ;)

But unlike the Wüst-Verweij combo, that's not going to be that public (presumably) :d

So, Jorrit Bergsma qualified after all, as expected. Meh.

meanwhile Blokhuijsen is definitely out (he has already 8 skaters in front of him in the scheme...and we still have to wait for the entire 1000 and 1500 podium finishers, who also will go ahead of Jan)...

and this means that the Team Pursuit trio also needs to be revised...

p.s. and now I want to see how they manage the Mass (Mess) Start issue, too...could be fun...

There's a good chance Blokhuijsen will be selected anyway, because of the pursuit. If I was a 1500m specialist, I'd not finish 3rd there..

really? this would be quite a brave move, if done...especially after this week's results...

however, I don't think he would get any individual start over those who beat him this week...maybe he could keep just his 3rd spot in the 5000m...:mumble:

Well, this whole selection thing is confusing me every time, but the people on the Dutch forums who are more knowledgeable about it than me seem to be pretty convinced they'll select Blokhuijsen as a crucial part of the pursuit team.

Today's live stream:

Women's 1500m, followed by the men's 1000m. Especially that last one is likely to be a battlefield.
