Chance in speed skating is most likely gone now. They are a highly dangerous outsider in the pursuit with Michael, Dobbin and Kay. If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! But that's in the non-Olympic format. Now tactics and recovery are becoming a part of the picture and they just have no depth. Mass start may be a better chance, but still unlikely with it being so random. DaniSRB 1 #banbestmen

Well, Italy could be expected to win a men's medal (before seeing the rather bad shape) and today was one of the 4 chances for that. Ya, that’s the thing with Bloemen. He may have been born and breed in the Netherlands, but for whatever reason the training environment in Calgary suited him a lot more than what he had in the Netherlands. Honestly he might very well not have made the team at all had he stayed in the Netherlands.

I expect a 6th place for him... of course, after see Pedersen and Boleman the medal was impossible

I agree , but probably in none of the races (mass start, team pursuit, 5000 and 10000) italian were really favourite (also before today) for the podiums, 5th or 6th places were more likely than a medal; perhaps in mass start Giovannini, but after today i would be surprised of a podium.
