It's normal... Well, a little normal. He never won a title (european or world) in short course pools

I'm not a big follower of short course swimming , but I think it's some how logic that a swimmer who's winning every thing in 50m pool , wins also here in short course , i've seen many champions doing this ! , but maybe he doesn't care much about SC !

no, there are a lot of different issues in short course swimming...

in the 50m pool you have the start (with the underwater section limited to max 15m) and then good 35m of surface swimming...

in the 25m pool you have the start (with its 15m underwater swim), then just 10m of surface swim before you get to the turn (followed by another up to 15m underwater section) and finally inly the last 10m of surface swimming...

so, you can easily undertand how short course specialists, who generally are perfect in the art of the initial dive (the strongest point for Scozzoli) and of the turns (Progoda by far the best in yesterday's field), have a big advantage on those powerful swimmers like Peaty, who's strenght is his surface swim that just "opens the water"...

and the shorter the distance, the biggest advantage have the specialists (and generally the swimmers with most powerful natural swim on the surface are not among them...just consider Ian Thorpe, who always said he did feel like "caged" when swimming in the 25m pool and never really recorded times comparable to those he got in the bigger pool)...

p.s. however, I don't see Scozzoli nor Prigoda nor anyone else beating Adam in the 100m...there he'll surely get his revenge...
