quite a good day for Italy once again...the men's senior double reached the final and so we have 5 of the 7 Olympic boats sure to end up in the top 6 (they would be qualified for the Games, if only the Summer Olympics were next year)...:yes

unfortunately, the womne's senior double missed out the qualification by quite a narrow margin, so we don't have any women's Olympic boat in the top 6 once again...:facepalm:

moreover, in today's non-Olympic boats finals we got 1 Gold (and it was a great one, the second in our centennial history among the girls), 1 Silver, 1 bitter 4th place-finish and 1 5th place-finish...

not bad, especially considering the very young age on average of our crews...

let's hope to get some satisfaction also in the next couple of days, when it matters more (the men's senior pair shootout between Lodo & Vicino against the Sinkovic brothers is going to be one of the highlights of the entire worlds in my opinion)...

as I expected, the men's pair final was a fantastic race, with the Italians coming back strongly in the last 500 meters and winning a wonderful gold medal just a point ahead of the great Sinkovic brothers...

NZL was together with ITA and CRO for most of the race, but they disappeared when ITA and CRO changed gear in the final few meters...

also the men's lightweight double scull was a very exciting race, better than expected...France confirmed themselves unbeatable, but the final sprint for silver between Italy and China (with Poland coming back strongly, too) was really amazing...

and Italy is getting medals as if it was raining...very good job, guys! :champion:
