dcro 10,172 Posted June 2, 2017 Author #221 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Italy gets another win in Nations Cup, this time in St. Gallen. I'm really looking forward to see how high can they go at jumping Europeans. #banbestmen

But he left a great legacy by introducing one super fan to the sport who in turn helps to educate the rest of us sports enthusiasts on here Meanwhile, I've remembered one more very memorable video from my early days of getting to know the sport. It's the famous performance of Andreas Helgstrand & Blue Hors Matine that has 17 million views on youtube. OlympicIRL 1 #banbestmen

dcro 10,172 Posted June 4, 2017 Author #225 Share Posted June 4, 2017 First day of Dressage Nations Cup in Uggerhalne, Denmark was held today. Denmark is in the lead, not surprisingly as they compete with pretty much their best team (minus Cathrine Dufour). Nice surprise came from Finland, currently in second place. Tomorrow is the decider. #banbestmen

dcro 10,172 Posted June 9, 2017 Author #227 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Looks like equestrian events were approved today for 2024 Olympics. Also, format changes that include reducing number of team members from 4 to 3 (+ "active" reserve) has been confirmed. Next Olympics should bring quite a few new nations. http://inside.fei.org/news/fei-president-welcomes-ioc-confirmation-equestrian-sport-2024-olympic-programme-and-approval #banbestmen

However eventing will either mean easier cross country courses or less than half the teams finishing the event.

Riders who get eliminated at one of the stages will be allowed to continue in the team competition only, if their horses pass the vet inspection. Such eliminations would incur additional penalties though. 100 for elimination in dressage/jumping, 150 for XC. There will also be an "active" reserve option. Reserves will be allowed to enter at any stage during the competition. Additional penalties for putting a reserve forward are yet to be decided. Plus, the technical level of XC will be 3* instead of 4*, but still with the same length and same amount of jumping efforts. #banbestmen
