I'm not an expert of female hockey well, we must say that Italy is the lowest seeded team in this group, but you already achieved very important win against Latvia, but against France the top favorite of the group it should be a bit harder even more assuming the tournament is held in France. But we know how the hockey and not only the hockey matches between France and Italy are tense and full of emotions so everything can happen. but yes on paper France is favorite. ahjfcshfghb and Gianlu33

hckošice 13,131 Posted December 16, 2016 #94 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Dreaming of PyeongChang 2018 Women’s Olympic Qualification continues this week Face-off between Latvia and Italy. The Italians in white caused an upset on the first day. Beside the IIHF championship events played right now in Germany, Hungary, Estonia and Chinese Taipei – including Belarus and Germany battling it out for promotion to the 2018 World Juniors on Saturday in Bremerhaven – two qualification tournaments for the Olympic women’s ice hockey tournament at PyeongChang 2018 will be played these days. After three tournaments it’s the third and last preliminary round that will end on Sunday in France and Norway. The winner of each tournament will advance to the final round for a berth in Korea. The tournament in France already started yesterday at the new Aren’Ice in Cergy-Pontoise outside of Paris. Lowest-seeded Italy, which won in the earlier preliminary round in San Sebastian, Spain, surprised with a 3-2 win against Latvia while host France blanked China 3-0. The four teams continue with games today and on Sunday. The tournament in Stavanger with host Norway, Slovakia, Hungary and Kazakhstan begins today and will be played on three consecutive days. The winner of each tournament will advance to the Final Olympic Qualification. The higher seeded of the two teams will play in Group D in Tomakomai with host Japan, Germany and Austria; the other team will play in Group C in Arosa with host Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Denmark. The dates for both tournaments are 9th to 12th February 2017. The winners of the final tournaments will get their tickets to PyeongChang 2018 where the top-five teams of the current Women’s World Ranking – USA, Canada, Finland, Russia and Sweden – as well as host South Korea are already qualified.
