Nevertheless, there was hope this morning and the jury decided to hold the racers’ inspection and take the decision in the lastest possible moment. After two delays (start was postponed to 12.15 and to 12.45 CET), the situation didn’t improve and the weather forecast announced no changes in the next hour. Unfortunately, the only option left was to cancel the downhill. With two cancellations earlier this season (Lake Louise – rescheduled in Kvitfjell / Beaver Creek – rescheduled in Val d’Isère) and a very tight World Cup calendar, there is no further possibility to replace this downhill. Ideally they would have the results from the DH count for the combined and have the slalom later, but there would be 2 problems with that. One, is that presumably not every slalom specialist has had a training on the course and two, they would think the DH course would be too tough for a combined...
