I'm so glad that Jansrud was the first one to get DNF, since the course setting was a complete disaster. Norwegian coach obviously prepared it for people who train slalom twice a year...

And the SG was an upper class GS. Your point being?

Slalom was however to a bigger extent "unusual" than morning's SG.

Just make a normal World cup level SG and normal World cup level SL and save us from this farce...

What a crime

Well, it is a bit unfair that there is speed race (downhill/super g) which lasts twice as slalom race, and then we have slalom race that lasted for 46/47s and was set in a really easy way. Pinturault and Hirscher built most of their advantage in super g race actually.

Ah yes, personal interest should always be ahead of interests of the sport. :p But yeah, I guess FIS is the one to blame.

Well if you're the Norwegian coach and you basically only have athletes who should take their win in the speed part of a combined, you can not at all be blamed for trying to improve your athletes' chances..

If the Austrian or French coach would have set the course, I'm sure it would have been a rather hard slalom to make it harder for the likes of Jansrud.

This whole thing of letting coaches set the course is weird anyway, but you can't blame them for helping out their athletes if they can of course :d

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Only looking at the time isn't that fair neither. In a 2 minute slalom you'd probably be able to lose/win way more time than in a 2 minute downhill..

Agree. I don't think slalom should last 2 minutes, but at least 50s like in normal World cup race.

However, today the slowest slalom round was 4 seconds slower than the fastest. Last placed athletes in super-g were 6 seconds behind.
