At the previous Games, Mexico has permitted to send swimmers with B-cuts.

Probably because he's Mexican and reading Mexican websites/statements? intoronto 1 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Here's the press release (in Spanish) from the Mexican Committee in which they argue that they are respecting the initial selection criteria (also in Spanish set by the national swimming federation, in which they stated no OST athletes will be selected for Rio. In said document, it says clearly that the federation will only nominate those athletes with "A" mark, also shortening their qualification period until May 15. To not make this long, this is just another power game between the idiot authorities that is affecting our competitors; it's sad to left behind the 2 or 3 swimmers that could be added to the team, but if they allowed the Mexican Athletics federation to change the selection process (to include 3 more athletes, that initially didn't qualify through) this is a clear case of lack of equity in the process. Just to share something for those who do not know their standards, selection procedures, and other details on internal qualification for each sport. heywoodu
dcro 10,172 Posted July 16, 2016 #460 Share Posted July 16, 2016 Sierra Leone will apparently have two swimmers (first Sierra Leone Olympic swimmers since 1996). Their female swimmer needed 54 seconds to swim 50m free in Kazan last year. But, she has allegedly improved since then and now she can do it in 40s. http://awoko.org/2016/07/14/sierra-leone-sports-salone-swimmers-ready-for-rio-games/ #banbestmen
