OlympicsFan 782 Posted April 7, 2016 #42 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Another disgraceful result in womens epee. To all the german officials out there: Either you invest some money for good coaches or you stop the funding for fencing. Stahlberg and Ebert are the most talented athletes of their age group, but both horribly failed here, what a disgrace! Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

phelps 6,852 Posted April 7, 2016 Author #44 Share Posted April 7, 2016 surprising Gold Medal for Italy...not in the sense that we won it, but because it went to our no.3 epee specialist, who defeated first the no.1 seeded (and no.1 Italian) girl, then the German Stahlberg (another one of the pre-competition favourites)... congrats to her... not so successful for us was the Men's foil, but it was expected...coming home with a bronze is good enough... on this side, I'm a bit disappointed by the early exit of Geofferey Tourette, who was so impressive in his run to the Cadets' Gold but failed to confirm himself among the 3 year elder guys... tomorrow it's time for the Junior Teams' events to start (Women's Foil and Men's Sabre will have the honor)...
