Or maybe I should say, "I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22" Can you relate to the lyrics of Katie Melua, "feeling 22, acting 17"?

heywoodu 13,499 Posted May 6, 2017 Author #838 Share Posted May 6, 2017 Out of curiousity: how is World War 2 remembered in your countries? This question of course only goes for people from countries where it actually is 'a thing' to remember it Here in the Netherlands 4 May is the national 'death remembrance day', where at 20:00 there are two minutes of silence and it's quiet everywhere on the streets and even the trains stop driving for two minutes. Then on 5 May it's 'liberation day', celebrating the liberation from the German occupation. On a Dutch forum I read someone saying "is all this necessary? I'm sure they don't remember all this so much as we do here, with the entire week being full of WW2 movies, survivors and veterans talking about that time etc". So now I'm curious If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

So now I'm curious 25 april is the 'liberation day', celebrating the liberation from the German-Italian fascist occupation, but nothing special, only some demonstrations in all the mayor city (and, since two years, political clash between Partisan and the jewish brigate ). I live between Salerno, one of the frist city that was liberated by the Allies and between Naples, an autoliberated city, so the WWII is is deeply felt. I'm lucky that my city, Cava de'Tirreni, is fiercely anti-fascist and that in the last political election (2013) only 377 people vote for the 6 fascit on neo-fascit party that we had (and 31.252 people voted, amazing result ) Edited May 6, 2017 by Gianlu33 heywoodu
