Jakub Grigar with the fastest time in K1 finals, but unfortunately 2 very light hits cost him the race. :(

In C1 Alexander Slafkovský (SVK) won his second world cup race in a row +1.52s ahead of the home athlete Nicolas Peschier (FRA) and the most slovak of all Japanese Takuya Haneda by +1.94s.

in womens C1 Mallory Franklin (GBR) won by 1.01second ahead of Jessica Fox (AUS) Jessica got 2 additional seconds penalisations in 7th gate and she fell from the 1st to 2nd place, 3rd finished Nuria Vilarrubla (ESP) +3.27seconds behind Franklin.

in mens K1 win for Spain Samuel Hernanz won the final +0.17s ahead of Mathieu Biazzizo (FRA) and +0.72s of Sebastien Combot (FRA).

Tomorrow continue the 3rd world cup stage in Pau with the semis and finals of mens C2 and womens K1. Tonight is scheduled the mens K1 slalom cross

In Pau (FRA) during the last day of the 3rd world cup Stage we had today the 2 last races before the Olympic Games.

In womens K1 the home athlete Maria-Zelia Lafont (FRA) showed her absolute knowledge of the home track and performed a tremendous race in the final and won by +2.43 seconds ahead of Jana Dukátová (SVK) and +5.10 sec. of Maialen Chourraut (ESP). to note that Jessica Fox (AUS) was the winner of the race, but she got 50sec. additional penality for missing the 17th gate. a crucial upstream gate in todays race.

In mens C2 we had a fantastic final, with 3 boats in 1 second. also to note another win for the home venue athletes. another prove that home advantage is in this sport a big big thing, the young french crew Pierre Antoine Tillard/Edern Le Ruyet won thanks a amazing run by +0.42s ahead of Robert Behling/Thomas Becker (GER) and +0.73 of another home team Nicolas Scianimanico/Hugo Cailhol (FRA)

this is the end of the first part of the season. the world cup will continue with 4th stage after the Olympic Games in Prague (CZE).

Hydrostadium, a leading compagny in white water courses is working on a temporary course that could be set up pretty much anywhere

Tbh, it doesn't seem that much appealing, but it might be what it takes for the sport not to be kicked out of the Olympics (a sport with a massive cost/legacy issue).
