heywoodu 13,499 Posted September 13, 2018 Author #91 Share Posted September 13, 2018 What the hell. A new run of one of the weather models shows Mangkhut having a pressure of 814mb (the lower it is, the more intense it gets, basically....for information, anything under 900 is extreme, Typhoon Tip in 1979 has the record with 870..) and maximum wind speeds of 196 knots...that is over 360 kilometers an hour! It might die down a little before actually reaching land, but (sustained) winds of well over 300 km/h are going to hit within less than two days...this is one of the worst natural monsters of the past decades. If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
