Ottima prestazione nella sprint femminile per lo squadrone azzurro che sfiora la medaglia con Lisa Vittozzi, 24enne azzurra, ma se la vede sfuggire per soli tre decimi. Grazie alla quinta clamorosa posizione di Federica Sanfilippo, l'Italiaè l'unica nazione a piazzare due atlete nella top5, neanche la corazzata francese e quella teutonica sono riusciti nell'impresa. Solo 21esima la "veterana" Dorothea Weirer, ad oltre un minuto dalla prima. Purtroppo nessuna azzurra convocata, un assenza importante che fa arretrare di anni luce il movimento bobbistico rosa.
