I don't really agree that it starts today. Back in the days where it was pretty much just a prologue and some boring flat stages before the mountains (and maybe a TTT), I could agree that the mountains were the real start, but looking at what we've seen so far, I would say that it has been on for quite some time. The weather didn't really help making some big differences on the cobbles, but those and also some hilly stages with decent potential. No doubt that we'll see bigger differences and some will advance while others will lose the race though.
