  1. Hillarious, someone would say ok, I’ll hide myself now
  2. Oh, that is new to me! I thought they had to declare support before being elected and then be bond to it
  3. It’s the typical dilemma of democracy: stability or representation. The indirect election of the president with a temporary parliament is a possible solution in a country which I imagine being split between federalism and presidentialism. But I think that the way in which the states give their delegates is wrong. Paradoxically, the ideal law for your system would be our old “Porcellum”* law for our Senate. *Porcellum, which can be more or less translated as “made by/for pigs” ( definition from the man who proposed it). It granted 55% of deputies to the list or coalition that obtained the highest number of votes in each region. Maybe this applied state by state for each winner may result in a good compromise of stability and representation. In Italy, it is definitely a wrong system
  4. I think that the "winner takes all" system is very weird, especially when applied to a non homogeneous country like USA
  5. Some days ago I could not sleep, so I woke up in the night and start baking these It is called "Danubio", literally Danube, as the mitteleuropean river. Essentially it is a set of small pieces of dough filled and baked together, so they can bump up and merge. It can be both sweet or salty, depending on the fill. The first photo, with my foot saying hello, is sweet and it is filled with custard and sour cherries (both homemade), the other is salty, with ham and cheese.
  6. There should also be a chance in the European qualifier, or are there any rules for participation I am not aware of?
  7. Maybe they are like Kaminoans. They could kidnap the most interesting people in the universe to clone them and rule the whole universe forever, but they give more value to money
  8. I guess Pakistan's first olympic qualification happened today in shooting
  9. I will always wonder why Italy did not compete in women's single scull and eight. I don't know if there were any qualification criteria/standards, but I'm sure we could have reached it. It is just a non-sense, to me.
  10. Because there were other competitions in which we had, for example, a 2+ and a 4+ (like the Abbagnale brothers and Di Capua ) which were not sculls
  11. We have host and dates for Olympic qualification events (https://www.coni.it/it/news/primo-piano/16488-pugilato,-scelte-le-città-dei-5-eventi-di-qualificazione-olimpica-torneo-europeo-a-marzo-a-londra.html) Asia/Oceania -> Wuhan :CHN 3-14 February Africa -> Dakar 20-29 February Americas -> Buenos Aires 26 March - 3 April Europe -> London 13-23 March World -> Paris 13-24 May
  12. I am start thinking to the parallel situations of Brexit and Italian Government crisis as a political version of the Wang/Di Donna rivalry at Atlanta 1996. However, today it looks that Brexit is going to win this head to head due to the fact that Parliament will be closed up to October 14th more or less, to avoid any political trap trying to avoiding No Deal Brexit. At the same time in Italy, we have Democrats and 5-Stars more or less agreeing in creating a new government under the lead of the previous PM, but still to understand who will be encharged as ministry, which can really make the difference in make a prediction regarding how long this government will last. From my point of view, although this is not an ideal situation and I am definitely not well impressed by PM Conte keeping on leading the government, I really hope that this experience may have good results, as this will hopefully destroy salvini's hopes towards premiership and possibly erase by our history its ridiculous party, together with its ridiculous allies and creating a right-wing party which is not fascist or made up of yes-mens of a stupid leader.
  13. Is there any Swiss user on the forum?
  14. I agree with this, but the fact is that an athlete cannot qualify more than one quota to his nation, so he will have to be excluded from further qualification events and quota repartitions. That is why I think that the reallocation regards the whole entered boat and is not to be intended as a partial quota filling to complete a boat.
  15. The idea I have reading the OQ system is that for higher boats quotas are always taken in even numbers, so 4 then 2. In addition, said that the IF wants to increase as much as possible the number of higher boats and chooses to do it in this way, then priority should be given to boats that effectively took part to the races, and not to "artificial" combination. To explain this better, let me first point out that I am definitely not an expert of this sport. You said that has already 1 quota and so it will need only another 1 for reaching a C2, but 1) which athlete will take it? and 2) what if the Czech NOC does not want to use these two athletes for the olympic event? However, I hope ICF will keep a tracker for the qualification system, so they will enlight us :D
  16. In the hypothesis they do not use K1 quota, this should go to
  17. As I have really nothing to do at the moment, I tried giving a chance to understand the qualification system and the realloation system, and this is what I think the results are: Men's Kayak events: Only has to reallocate a quota in K1 1000 and gets it Women's Kayak events: and reallocate a quota in K1 200 and and get them, according to first rule of reallocation (K1 x K1) (3 quotas), (2) (2) (2) and (1) reallocate a total of 10 quotas according to second rule, so and obtain a K4 quota, while obtains a K2 quota. As a consequence of this, loses its quota in K1 500 which goes to Men's Canoe events: loses its quota in C1 which goes to Women's Canoe events: loses its quota in C1 which goes to
  18. I am totally getting lost with this qualification system. It would have been easier to make as in track cycling, cluster events for qualification and select any of the chosen athletes for competition.
  19. Cose che a volte capitano, sperando che non ci siano sottotrame nascoste
  20. According to the flag topics, it seems like red is favourite color for a lot of users who have already answered
  21. I ate waffles in Belgium (Flemish part, Leuven): it would not be that bad
