  1. The reason is avoiding a rise in spread in other parts of Italy so that to avoid constrictions already taken in Lombardy
  2. we will have it in Italy, just in case you are interested...
  3. My interpretation is the following: - 8 teams qualifies for team sprint and they can enter 2 athletes in both individual events; -7 NOCs qualify 1 athlete in keirin and they are also granted to start in sprint; - further 7 NOCs qualify in sprint, considering continental representation, and can start in both events. (I suppose that considering the need to respect continental representation, keirin has a higher priority in defining quota allocations) To me, it makes sense to allow only NOCs that qualified in team sprint to have 2 starters.
  4. are you sure that NOCs that did not qualify a team can enter two athletes in keirin and sprint? I believe it is reserved only to NOCs entering team sprint
  5. It’s 2% of known infected people. The difference between normal flu and this is mainly due to the fact that what we call “flu” is more or less well known* and we can make epidemiological predictions on what happens every year. This virus is new and is almost impossible to make a model that may give us a correct idea on how it spreads, which symptoms are common, which are harmful and in practice how many serious cases we have. With this new virus, a lot of cases are asymptomatic, which means you cannot detect them properly and use the data for a whole, decent prediction. And let me tell you that of 400 patients in Italy, more than a half are asynptomatic, they were tested only because suspected of close contact. *each year the influenza virus undergoes mutations but more or less it has the same kind of mechanism of action, so it is possible to contain it through vaccines
  6. Has Japan chosen the four categories in which use the host country quotas?
  7. Is there a place called Sorrento in Australia?
  8. As I said before, this is a result of mass testing. At the moment 3 people died for this virus, all of them relatively old or with preexistent pathologies (cardiac and cancer). As by tradition in our health system, we are going to record a sharp rise in cases of coronavirus as this mass testing will continue for at least 2 weeks. Personally I don't think they are acting bad with this mass screening, as this is due to prevent serious consequences for potential people at high risk. In my view, the problem is the fear around this virus, which seems to me too much. However, I would like to ask to european users here about their governments' actions to prevent virus from spreading. Here in Italy, direct flights from China were suspended weeks ago, but no mandatory quarantine was required to those coming from there. What about your countries?
  9. Elena Vallortigara jumped 1.96m in women' high jump at Italian National Indoor Championships
  10. well I guess no reason for mass testing has happened there, and I hope it won't be
  11. Thanks :D feel free to write to me, if you want
  12. Do you know any internet tool that may help learning French?
  13. Are there any restrictions on participation or and are really not interested in Taekwondo?
  14. Greetings from Piazza del Campo, Siena, (in Tuscany), where the famous Palio is held twice per year
  15. Sadly, no races in Italy... I hoped that Naples, Piombino or somewhere in Apulia would have organized a major event, but sadly not
  16. So I guess only the two Sabre team are still not qualified for Italy, am I right?
  17. In principle it wouldn't be bad, but in practice a lot of spots are unused even in sports you would expect Oceanian nation to be at least decent (see 470 recently). It would make more sense to fuse Asia and Oceania and reserve some spots for local regions, partially as FEI does, at least in more developed sports in which more quotas are available. Another way could be a slight increase in quotas that are actually given through tripartite commission, let's say doubling them, and make the distribution through ranking and/or dedicated tournaments.
  18. I definitely suggest you to make two different reservations and keep the two things separated, it is the best way to enjoy both things as distances are not so small and Rome is huge to be explored
  19. This double semifinal vs was almost endless in olympic perspective, I guess both can be satisfied, with French women and Italian men winning
  20. 2020 Golden Gala for Diamond League will move from Rome due to mainteinance towards Euro2020 for football championships. It was thought that the event would have been moved to Milan, but this ended up with it being held in Naples at San Paolo stadium, which was restyled for 2019 Universiade
  21. Is this going to be a direct qualifier or part of the ranking?
