  1. Where am I saying that there aren't political selections? (the peace prize has been part of political discussions for most of its existence).
  2. Excuse me? What do they have to do with anything? The Nobel Prize is not awarded by the government! Yes, it's terribly saddening that someone with Handke's views can get this attention, but as said it's a litterature prize (though there are some controversial things in there as well). And growing denial? Are you so sure about that? It's getting more visible and it's getting more and more important to make it clear that they are wrong, but I'm really not that certain about it.
  3. So happy for Ida and Marie. Great showing putting them pretty close to the Olympic spot
  4. But a terrible mess to clean up after for the future president. The diplomacy will be in terrible trouble with another 4 years (with a few firm allies as exceptions (though the ambassador to Denmark is terrible). Not to mention environment and climate.
  5. Well, he managed to get through to the people who felt forgotten (or even pissed on) by the politicians. That and a politician who did not manage to activate people.
  6. Once again a rather simplistic analysis. No doubt money plays a major role and no, you can't really create a strong campaign without big money, but money isn't all. Money can put your message into the world, but if you don't have the message, you won't get anything. We've seen plenty of rich candidates getting no results. No doubt the massive fund raising job by Gifford and co. gave Obama an advantage, but he didn't get it just due to the money.
  7. While other thinks he'll leave soon. If anybody (and that's a big IF) should be mentioned as a number 5, I believe it'll be Klobuchar. Yang, no! He does have a base of people who likes him, but it feels unlikely. My main fear is what will happen with the ones joining late (Bloomberg and Patrick), They won't win, but I really fear that they (especially Bloomberg) will cause trouble when it comes to beating Trump. Personally I was the kind of person who could end up supporting Bloomberg, but joining at this late stage is stupidity.
  8. You don't think Booker will be among the next ones dropping out? He's still doing bad in the polls making the december debate unlikely
  9. And in Valencia David Nilsson did the same for Sweden http://www.friidrott.se/nyheter.aspx?id=24068
  10. And Abdi Ulad Hakin secures a spot for Denmark in the men's marathon!
  11. Nah. I would strongly expect that Americans can come up with something more interesting while people from other countries can be just as uninspired.
  12. Indeed it is. I guess Denmark, Finland and Belgium will all camp at home for the group stage and just travel for away games.
  13. They really weren't that terrible. Korea played extremely well.
  14. Though I'm not a big fan of the concept as well (even though it's pretty much the only way we get to host the EURO), I wouldn't agree with you all the way. Yes, some big nations are favored, but first of all it's only in the group stage, where more than half the participating nations advance. Second, there are several big countries who aren't. Only one group has both teams qualified (and that's the one with no real powerhouse). And to be fair, the hosts in the other groups would be hard to see eliminated in the group stage. There are plenty of problems with the concept (just look at the draws where 2 groups have 3 places pretty much set in stone), and yes, it should be a one-off concept (and yes, it will at least be a long time before we'll see it again), but I do believe it will be entertaining.
  15. Don't you worry. I think we are a few getting some major mistakes. Personally I somehow managed to miss the Romanian doping investigations.
