  3. 3rd and final Day at the Italian Winter Nationals Alberto Razzetti confirmed himself as the Italian swimmer currently in best shape, swimming a new NR (and OQT) also in the men's 400m IM he clocked 4.09.29, improving by more than half a second the old record, held by Luca Marin since January 2007, when he won the bronze medal at that year's World Champs (behind people like Phelps and Lochte and beating Laszlo Cseh) Alessandro Miressi also got the OQT by winning the men's 100m Freestyle in 47.61 Simona Quadarella (women's 800m Freestyle, 8.25.87), Benedetta Pilato (women's 50m Breaststroke, 29.65), Niccolò Martinenghi and Simone Cerasuolo (men's 50m Breaststroke, 26.71 and 26.83 respectively) "only" recorded World Championships Qualifying Times Federico Burdisso, instead, missed the World Champs QT by just 2/100 of a second (he swum the men's 200m Fly in 1.55.11, while it was required 1.55.0), but his time however is ecouraging, as it's his fastest race since Tokyo (when he won the bronze medal) everything else, better to forget it as quick as possible
  4. can't wait for Marcel Jacobs doublin' up Tokyo's Gold and get GBR and USA completely mad, especially after switching to Reider as a coach outside that, I just can't choose only 5 events...even 5 sports is not enough I can only name the 5/6 sports I won't watch for any reason in the world (who wants to guess? )

Italian Winter Nationals Day #2 2 more Olympic Qualification Times and 2 World Champs Qualifying efforts today in Riccione Thomas Ceccon won "his" men's 100m Backstroke in 52.82 and officially earned the OQP in the same event, Michele Lamberti (son of the 1991 world champion and former world record holder over the men's 200m Free, Giorgio), swum 53.76, which is his new PB and gives him the World Champs pass in the women's 100m Breastroke, Benedetta Pilato won the race in 1.05.80 (she "died" in the last 15m, after it looked that she was going to swim a monster PB in the first 80m thanks to a 30.89 "easy" split halfway through the distanced) and got the OQP in the men's 100m Breastroke, Ludovico Blu Art Viberti surprised the more famous opponents (2022 world champion and Tokyo bronze medallist Niccolò Martinenghi, but also 2022 European silver medallist Federico Poggio) in 59.38, which is a new PB and gives him a World Champs pass all the other races, no comment

I don't follow club volleyball, so I just can't say anything... looking at the individual stats, he's doing fine this season...maybe he's found the best environment for him to perform in Trento however, he would be just the replacement for Romanò and Bovolenta, I guess...a sort of ensurance in case of injury of our primary choices (as it is now, with Romanò out a few weeks for an abdominal injury...luckily, there's no NT volleyball right now) even if they wrote that he might even be ahead of Bovolenta, who's our next big thing, but he's still very young and playing in the not so demanding 2nd tier league this year (they also wrote that Rychlicki's a good teammate and a good presence in the locker room, which is something De Giorgi appreciates a lot) we'll see what happens next Summer
  7. formerly from (despite the clear Polish heritage) Kamil Rychlicki might start playing for in the next international competitions (he got the passport already 11 months ago and he hasn't played NT international volleyball for years) currently he's one of the best "opposite hitters" in the Superlega for Trento (the same team of Micheletto, Lavia and Sbertoli)
  8. very disappointing day #1 at the Italian Winter Nationals as already reported, only 2 swimmers earned their spot for the Olympic Games (Gregorio Paltrinieri, men's 1500m Freestyle and Alberto Razzetti, men's 200m IM) while Paltrinieri's clocking is nothing special (not even close to his ER and this year's world medallists), Razzetti's 1.56.21 is a huge PB, new National Record and it would have given him the 4th place in Fukuoka 3rd and last good news is Lorenzo Mora's 1.57.23 (equalled his PB) in the men's 200m Backstroke, which is good for the qualification to Doha's World Champs (still far from the Olympic qualification time, though) Thomas Ceccon just took a bath in the men's 50m Fly, winning comfortably in 23.11

  13. because only the Top 2 in each semifinal heat make it through to the final, then the 2 best times are the "lucky losers" (like in CC skiing sprint races) Today the 2nd semifinal was quicker than the first, so Murada couldn't advance to the final 6
  14. it depends on what's a non-mainstream event in your area (or for you) for instance, in Italy all Wintersports (except maybe for Alpine Skiing) are definitely non-mainstream events so, the European Curling GMM (Women) or the Biathlon WC race I just saw are among them however, Today I'm all in with Wintersports (Curling, CC Skiing, Biathlon, Alpine Skiing, NK) & Hockey (main European Domestic Leagues and NHL)
