  1. Bol will only run 400m hurdles.
  2. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will make her 400 hurdles comeback at the LA Grand Prix 18th of May. Bye bye chances of Olympic gold for Femke Bol
  3. Last weekend in Varese the British Four destroyed the Dutch boat. And even your second boat was faster than our boat.
  4. Don't know everything of British sport, but Tom Pidcock (mountainbike), EMMA FINUCANE (sprint) and Women's Four / Women's Quaduple belong to the list for gold?!? Especially Finucane!
  5. Gold Medalists: Harrie Lavreysen - Track Cycling Individual Sprint Harrie Lavreysen - Track Cycling Keirin Track Cycling Men's Team Sprint (For me Australia is the favorite with their extra rider and better start) Track Cycling Men's Madison (Havik and Van Schip only won once accidentally during the Worlds, but with the Dutch are outsider) Femke Bol - 400m Hurdles (I truly not believe she's capable to beat Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, how much I wish her to do) Mathieu van der Poel - Cycling Road Race (Well, he is one of the riders to watch, but so many can win this) Sharon van Rouwendaal - Marathon Swimming (She won last Worlds because the already qualified swimmers didn't take part seriously in the 10km) Men's Field Hockey (They have a chance, but for me and are bigger favourites) Women's field Hockey Tes Schouten - Swimming 200m Breaststroke Did Gracenote ever heard of Tatjana Schoenmaker and Kate Douglass? No. van de Werken/Lambriex - Sailing 49er Duetz/van Aanholt - 49er FX Luuc van Opzeeland - Sailing iQFOiL (Strange format in the final) Rowing - Men's Double Sculls Rowing - Women's Four( is the big boat in this class) Rowing - Women's Pair( and weren't at their best at last year's WCh, but normally those two countries fighting for gold) Rowing - Men's quadruple Sculls Rowing - Women's Single Sculls I predict a maximum of 11 golds for us. That still would be an amazing result for our little country. Would be very happy with that. Gracenote predicts only 5 silver, I predict a lot more silver!
  6. Your prediction is much more accurate than Gracenote's, who still thinks Netherlands will win a silver medal at the 4x100 freestyle in swimming and a total of 18 golds
  7. Really? In my memory the schedule followed quite quickly after the draw. Well, let's wait and see ...
  8. Not yet. And I didn't hear anything about when the schedule will be released! But normally the IHF is fast with it.
  9. Well, my prediction is and will fight for the very important second place in the group after France. That normally means a clash with a Scandinavian country in the quarterfinals (most likely or ). In that perspective this isn't the best draw for us. But otherwise: there are no weak opponents in the quarters of an Olympic Games. Group A seems a bit stronger with the three Scandinavian powerhouses. Don't know what to say about . They played a very good OQT, but we destroyed them at the last Worlds. There's a good chance for them to reach the quarterfinals ( and are weaker). I really looking forward to the handball tournament in Paris/Lille. Only 100 days wait ...
  10. Pot 1: Pot 2: Pot 3: Pot 4: Pot 5: Pot 6: What a weird pots ... why Norway and France not in the same pot? Clearly the two best teams in the world.
  11. Netherlands was the best country at last year's world championships. From what I've seen today, I predict GB will win the most gold medals in this year's Olympics. Some of the Dutch boats didn't convince at all (especially the women's four and women's quadruple). For the men's double sculls and men's quadruple there was a win, but not as convincing as last year (very small margins). Karolien Florijn on the other hand showed a very good shape! Europeans in two weeks, I'm looking forward to it.
  12. A good performance of the Dutch teamsprint. Unfortunately I don't see 'the old' Van den Berg improving towards the Games, so the start remains the weak spot of the team compared to Australia. But all by all 41.86 is a good time, but for gold in Paris it has to go a few tenths faster.
  13. Meeting in Eindhoven 100 butterfly: Tessa Giele 57,34 Didn't see this one coming. But very nice, as well for the 4x100 medley relay.
  14. Very happy with the qualification. It's our fourth team to qualify after both field hockeyteams and our waterpolo women. Hopefully we have a nice draw and can sneak into the semis of the handball tournament (but that will be very hard with teams like Denmark, Norway and France).
  15. I watched the first half of our women, but what a shame. After 15 minuten our goalkeeper had a 0% rate in succesfull stops. From defence to attack ... it was a really bad first half. I expect we will win eventually, but Czech Republic and Spain will have chances against this Dutch team.
  16. The 4th leg for Ertzgaard. Maybe not the best runner, but if the other three are real good, it doesn't have to matter. I'm really curious which athletes the Dutch team send to the World Relays. They have to send both Bol and Klaver to ensure the women's en mixed 4x4.
  17. Norway in the 4x400 mixed will be a dark horse for the medals in Paris.
  18. Do we already know if the Russian and Belarussian swimmers will take part in the Olympics? And if so, which ones? More specific Kolesnikov, Rilov and Chikunova.
  19. Hopefully Lavreysen will recover soon, maybe he will participate in the keirin this weekend. Good win for Australia. Way better than the other teams. I think in normal circumstances the Dutch team could have ride a 42.27. Not easily, but possible. So we have a very exciting Olympic Games in teamsprint to come.
  20. Aha, food poisoning for Lavreysen. Yesterday was his birthday ...
  21. According to the start list, Lavreysen was on the team. On the detailed result page it turns out Lavreysen was replaced by Kool. But still a bummer for the Dutch team. Even with Kool in the team, they really could have finish a 0.75 faster at least. According to Dutch media the last days the Dutch team really wanted to show Asutralia that they are still the number one. Therefore I don't understand that Lavreysen was replaced just before the start. Well, let's see how fast the Australians can go. I predict 41.5/41.6 or so.
  22. Well, I expected a defeat for the Dutch sprinters, but not that gap to Australia and a 9th place. Even no qualification for the second round. Lavreysen slower than Richardson and Hoogland way slower than Glaetzer.
  23. Hopefully the Dutch bullet train will continue their winning streak in the men's teamsprint. But I'm afraid that Australia has now really become better than The Netherlands. The winner of this World Cup has a big mental advantage towards Paris.
  24. Does anyone know where you can find an overview of the extensive Olympic rankings? And where you can see how a team's points total is structured. You could follow this at other Olympic Games via various sites, but this year I can't find anything about it. Good job from Boermans and De Groot. In beachvolleyball they are the biggest medal hope for The Netherlands in Paris. If they make Paris, they only played 8 tournaments and Boermans is injured every now and then.
