  1. Thanks to the draw there will be an extra member in the Gingerbreads team so your chance increased slightly
  2. Although not an independent nation, I thought it would be nice to share some new music from Northern Mariana Islands as part of our Festival of Music.... Northern Mariana Islands Walter A. Manglona - Too Late
  3. Each team has one set of oars. At the exchange after each leg, the team passes the oars over to their teammates. A dropped oar does not mean disqualification, but it means the team will have no choice but to use their arms as oars for the remainder of the race
  4. If you can convince Mr.Bach to introduce Rowing Slalom then you have chances for medals
  5. Sure, I have no objection to having you opening a discussion about this when this contest is over
  6. Yes!! That’s exactly it. So while most would pronounce “chairs” with a z sound at the end (chairz) the Chicano influence has led the s at the end to be pronounced with an s sound instead of z sound. And that is what I picked up on in your accent. That’s so cool that it’s a thing after all
  7. I am also taking 2 weeks off work to watch the Olympics. I made sure to get that request approved at the start of January . I didn't book the day of the Opening Ceremony but I will probably book it closer to the time when the excitement starts taking over. Not sure what kind of ceremony there is going to be anyway
  8. I did my first 2 listens last weekend and after that did my first cut. Had 2 more listens of the remaining songs this week (Monday and Wednesday). Plan to do another on Friday and Sunday. The top 2 switched positions after yesterday’s listen which doesn’t happen that often for me this far into the process so it’ll be interesting to see if it switches again. Down to 16 songs though.
  9. 13-year-old from Japan into the final after winning Group C !
  10. I don't know about anyone else but the site has been really bad for me this evening, very slow to load pages and very often timing out. Hopefully @Sindo can work his magic soon to fix this mess
  11. IRELAND After much deliberation, the Irish National Selection Committee is delighted to announce Dublin-born singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy as this year's TISC Annual 2021 representative for Ireland. Having been considered for previous TISC Annuals, Dermot finally gets his chance this year to compete at TISC with his single entitled "Giants". Commenting on his single, Dermot had the following words to say: "Change hurts and growing hurts. "Giants" is a song about just that, steeped in bittersweet nostalgia. It's about acknowledging our loss of youth and how time inevitably changes things. Yet in the same breath the song is an encouragement to be brave – individually, and collectively. Walking into an unknown future together can be beautiful just as much as it is scary. I want people to listen to this song and hold on to that thought. Let go of the past and grab the change that is in front of us, and make it for the better. Even if it hurts" I hope you enjoy Dermot Kennedy - Giants Lyrics: We used to be giants When did we stop? Just say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot The hope and the hurt Has lived inside of me But there's gold in the dirt I never took the time to see But I knew of it's worth When you walked beside of me And my hand fit in yours Like a bird would find the breeze We used to be giants When did we stop? Say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot We were the song in the silence But time catches up Just say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot I knew from the start You'd be the one to set me free That day in the park When the hurt would hide from me Those eyes used to know me, it's been way too long You are the moon and the stars, and all they gaze upon Time won't ever move slowly, what you waitin' on? Yeah, what you waitin' on? We used to be giants When did we stop? Say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot We were the song in the silence But time catches up Just say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot Darlin', just say you will Will you remember those times? That I have held until tonight If you say you will, I'll leave it all behind Don't you remember those times? We used to be giants So when did we stop? Just say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot We were the song in the silence But time catches up Just say the word, and I'll be yours You know I never forgot We used to be giants Giants Oh, I still love you though I still love you though
  12. My favourites by far so far are and . I like and from the one time I heard I liked it as well. I still haven’t heard some of newly selected entries though like and
  13. Mexico and Greece becoming multi juries after 16 editions... this is amazing
  14. Is there any potential new nation this year? I don’t remember any new forum members from somewhere new but I could be wrong.
  15. I think there’s a big chance Norway is going to be my favourite this year. I am growing to love the song and can even look past the Tix’s outfit now I think he could do something really good with the staging on this one too. I think it will surprise many because it is a grower
  16. Séamus is packing his bags and listening to “The Rocky Road To Poland”.... it can only mean one thing! Ireland is in
  17. Yes, her song is called "Maps" apparently, that's all I know

  19. I don't mind the song, it's much better in Norwegian by the way. But the staging is too much, it makes it seem really cheesy. I was never a fan of Monument anyway. I think KEiiNO would have been the "right" choice for Norway in that they have a fandom across Europe that will vote for them and would have brought them a decent result. I just don't rate the song though.
