  1. Lidija Žurauskaitė with a 7th in the individual. Women's team hasn't seen a top 10 since Diana Rasimovičiūtė 14 years ago A very rare occasion where the men get outclassed by our women's team, since Traubaitė finished higher than Strolia too
  2. Glorified World cup or not, this could then be an amazing opportunity for the Lithuanians to secure nice funding and perhaps qualify a relay
  3. TEAM WOMEN Rūta Meilutytė - 50/100m Breaststroke, 4x100m Medley + mix Kotryna Teterevkova - 50/100/200m Breaststroke, 4x100m Medley + mix Smiltė Plytnykaitė - 50/100m Freestyle, 4x100m Medley Sylvia Statkevičius - 200m Freestyle, reserve for relay Patricija Geriksonaitė - 50m Backstroke, 4x100m Medley MEN Danas Rapšys - 200/400m Freestyle, 4x200m Freestyle Andrius Šidlauskas - 100/200m Breaststroke, 4x100m Medley mix Mantas Kaušpėdas - 50m Backstroke, reserve for relay Erikas Grigaitis - 100/200m Backstroke, 4x100m Medley mix Daniil Pancerevas - 200m Medley, 4x200m Freestyle Tomas Navikonis - 4x200m Freestyle Tomas Lukminas - 4x200m Freestyle Rokas Jazdauskas - reserve for 4x200m Freestyle This is the record largest Lithuanian team, but I think that it will get bigger and bigger since our swimming is improving massively, so I expect female freestyle relays in the near future too.
  4. I wasn't entirely sure, because she is taking it event after event, not committing to everything. She had multiple interviews saying that she hasn't decided if she's taking part and that's why the journalists asked her yesterday to confirm. There was also a good chance she was not participating if Russia was at the Olympics, since she is a huge activist for Ukraine and had a viral video of her swimming in "blood" where they dyed a lake red for a day. I believe she is attending Doha though, that's why she skipped the short-course Euros.
  5. Rūta Meilutytė confirmed today at the Lithuanian sports awards, that she will be preparing for the Paris Olympics. I wonder if she'll be able to contend for a medal in the 100m.
  6. No chance for her in a pursuit, with the time that she's shooting in right now. She could go 0+0+0+0 and wouldn't move up probably.
  7. Lidija is really much like Karol. Give a good first lap and then survival mode. Judita on the other hand, shocked me with her improvement. I really couldn't imagine seeing her anywhere close to top 60 this season, since it's her first WC year. Although I have a feeling this is probably going to be the best that we see from her this season, it gives me hope that next year both Lidija and Judita could fight for WC points.
  8. And that's without Norway, Sweden, Finland, United States, China, Japan, that could've easily lifted the number up to 41
  9. I think it's safe to not expect anything from Lithuania anywhere earlier than 2024. Mostly everyone's sick, mental broken. Only Lidija seems to be in good spirits right now.
  10. Heck, in Lithuania there was a huge Italian pop music phase when I was a child. Then in mid 2000's Romania took over I just spent my time mostly listening to music from the US and UK that my uncle recorded for me and my sister on CD's Until of course I started winning or buying my own CD's and then the Internet took over L'italiano was very very popular here amidst songs like: "That's Amore", "O Sole Mio", "Volare", "Felicita", "Bella Ciao", "Buona Sera", "Quando Quando Quando" and many others. It was often translated into Lithuanian and performed by local artists too as originals, which was and is very very illegal, but the older generation of musicians and artists really built their entire careers on stealing music that worked. Which is why I rarely nominate older music from Lithuania in these contests, we didn't really have that much to be proud of.
  11. Nice, glad Samuelsson got to end his weekend with a well deserved win
  12. Everyone is dropping like flies to Covid. I believe it's Lithuania, Estonia, Canada and Finland that are having problems right now. I would assume that same problems are starting for France as well, because not starting from 8th and 12th, there has to be a very good reason for that.
  13. Out here, where we have more information leaks regarding Latvia, Baiba is not much of a hero. She was training and overtraining right up to her pregnancy and got back training immediately after giving birth. Rumours floated around that her son was in critical condition at one point. Also, the child chilling at the shooting range numerous times, being exposed to those decibels of sound is definitely not a great environment for an adults' ears, let alone a kid.
  14. Don't want to rain on your parade, but couldn't skim past the comment on the Italian song being a bold choice. This was an international hit across Europe, I remember it being overplayed everywhere in Lithuania when I was a child It has a very similar cultural impact as the famous Volare Cantare and other Italian classics during that era of music. So from the Italian perspective, it's as bold of a choice as the UK sending The Beatles or Queen
  15. Great, I'm free Honestly been on this forum for long enough to expect absolute domination from Ed Sheeran, especially since it had Irish elements. Felt like Serbia all over again. Even though I gave Ed third, I felt somewhat discouraged, because I would have been more excited if it was anything from the first two albums or many others from the third album. Never really felt too passionate about "Galway Girl", but I couldn't deny it, since it was a strong song. Ed Sheeran was the very first concert that I ever bought tickets to. It was his X tour in 2014, I remember buying tickets a week or two before the show in Vilnius Siemens arena. Funnily enough, two months ago I got the chance to buy a ticket to Ed Sheeran in the newly built Kaunas stadium and it sold out in less than three hours and they scheduled a second show because of that. Tickets are still available for that one, to anybody interested. Congrats to the winner and the countries on the podium. Another bad Lithuanian result, but this time we collected the full medal table, so I can at least go to sleep with the satisfaction that there were people that really liked it.
  16. As long as its not geo-blocked, I judge what's in front of me. When I was younger and had more time, I used to look up the artists to listen to them live and that sometimes affected some of my opinions when deciding between entries. This year I had my answer in record low 4 listenings.
  17. I don't judge on video either, I meant the instances where you cut out from the song, because something is happening during the video. Kills my listening experience every time
  18. I'm waking up early for work tomorrow, so it has become not a too good of a time for me today
