    I think anywhere except Qatar is the same, not really much hype. Usually there are concerts or quizzes to welcome the World Cup on TV here, but there is none so far. To make it worse in Indonesia: we just ended analog broadcasting 10 days ago and people are freaking out because suddenly their TV shows nothing despite the government had campaigned about digital TV since 2019.

    I sometimes wonder why Georgia (the country) is happy being called Georgia internationally. Like why they’re happy being confused with a state inside another country… They even asked Japan to stop calling them with the Russian derived Gurujiya and then the Japanese started calling them Joojia (which is also the same spelling for the US state)

    Well from my own experience in Indonesian elections It's about "us" or "them", so if the margin in the second round is thin then fraud allegation will be more believable and with some incitement you can start a big demonstration. If you're defeated in the first round, less people will take you seriously. Of course Brazil and Indonesia is different.. Just sharing my thoughts

    Football tragedy in Indonesia: A match between Arema vs Persebaya (two rival teams from East Java) ended 2-3 and the subsequent riot caused over 120 deaths. Home fans (Arema) began climbing the fence and entered the field, started destroying things before the police used tear gas to disperse them. Unfortunately it caused more panic and a stampede happened. 34 people died on the spot, over 90 died in the hospital….
