and also another year of Continental Youth Champs is over... in Europe, Italy and Russia shared the most Gold medals (8 each), with the Southern Europeans leading the medal table because of 2 more Silvers (and a 20-19 total)... good campaign also for Hungary and, only among the juniors, for France (they didn't even compete at cadets' level)... Germany and Turkey (nice surprise) won the only remaining Gold medals (1 each), with 15 different Countries winning at least 1 total medal... in the other Continents, almost everything went according to the previews, with Korea winning the most medals ahead of Japan in Asia (China was very disappointing, though...even if they never show up at their best in this youth events) and USA dominating as usual the Pan-American zone (here also Mexico had a very good campaign with 4 Gold medals, not all of them really expected)... In the African zone, we saw Egypt taking most of the honors, but they were not as devastating as they used to be, with Algeria emerging as the second force of the Continent and, good news if compared to the recent past, some more Countries making their appearance in the final medal table (and it could be even better if some day we'd get the cadets results, tooo...because we have to say that the usual lack of information is still a big problem with African Fencing -and many other sports, but this is another question)...2 points

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I PRESENT YOU THE FIRST EVER AUSTRIAN SONG IN THE HISTORY OF THE TOTALLYMPICS INTERNATIONAL SONG CONTEST: PIZZERA & JAUS - EINE INS LEBEN: Pizzera & Jaus is a relatively new band, formed by two comedians who wanted to start making music. Ever since producing their first song they have had great success in Austria and hopefully this song will do well internationally too. I've really been unsure which song I should take and I'm still not sure if I made the right choice but the other songs I considered were songs you have to hear multiple times to like them, which is probably not the formula for success in this competition. Anyway, I'm happy that I can participate and it's up to you whether Austria will do well or not Lyrics: English translation:2 points

Pedersen was 'allowed' to lose 7 seconds (a bit more), but after almost 7km he was 6-7 seconds faster than Roest, so there was no excitement whatsoever about who would win. Until all of a sudden, Pedersen crashed into the boarding. He stayed down for a bit (laptime of 50 seconds because of that), got back up and continued in a rather impressive but hopeless way, eventually still beating Kramer but losing 15 seconds to Roest.2 points

Anisimova keeps winning, into R4 now! Petra was really bad, errors everywhere, but that doesn't diminish Amanda's success! I am very impressed with her hard hitting abilities. She wasn't that troubled with Petra's shots, was able to answer back with great angles, driving Petra from one corner to another, and to hit as hard as Petra did! One to watch! Vondroušova also in 4th round Two youngest players left in the draw are in the last 16!1 point -

Great Britain The British jury this year opted for their gut choice as the first song nominated in the selection process has been chosen to represent Great Britain. Rae Morris, a 25 year old singer and pianist from Blackpool released the single Someone Out There in February 2018 and the selection panel first discovered her potential on an afternoon TV talk show a few weeks ago, triggering a rapid chain of events that will see Rae representing Great Britain in Brazil. The song is said to be about a fan who sent her a mix of hand made, creative gifts whilst she was in a recording session, reminding her that 'Someone Out There' really is always thinking of you. Rae Morris - Someone Out There Lyrics Someone out there loves you Someone out there is lonely too They may not know it, they may be trying to tell you And you may not know till you pass on the street Your heads turn, your eyes lock and you feel complete Someone out there loves you When the world's got you down and there's no end in sight Do you give up? Keep your eyes shut? When the days are drawn out Feels like nothing is going your way Do you give up? Keep your eyes shut? You can rest assured you're not the only one Someone out there loves you Someone out there is lonely too They may not know it, they may be trying to tell you And you may not know till you pass on the street Your heads turn, your eyes lock and you feel complete Someone out there loves you When the pages don't turn and the words are all blurred Don't you give up, don't you give up When you reach out a hand and courageously ask me to dance But the music stops, keep your head up You can rest assured you're not the only one Someone out there loves you Someone out there is lonely too They may not know it, they may be trying to tell you And you may not know till you pass on the street Your heads turn, your eyes lock and you feel complete Someone out there loves you Someone somewhere out there loves you You can rest assured you're not the only one You can rest assured you're not the only one You can rest assured you're not the only one You can rest assured you're not the only one1 point -

IRELAND After much deliberation and a close run contest, the Irish national selection committee have settled on the entry for TISC Annual 2018. Ireland will be represented by Hudson Taylor, an Irish folk duo consisting of brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor. Their song is called "Feel It Again", I hope you enjoy Hudson Taylor - Feel It Again Lyrics: I used to dance at the devil's feet He made me feel like I never want to go home I thought he'd save my soul Sipping at the bottom of an empty glass No I don't remember going to hell and back But I know I was out of control I don't wanna do this anymore Gotta pick myself up off the floor Let it rain Let it pour Let the tears come down like a waterfall I'd rather live with the pain than die Feeling nothing at all Throw another penny in the wishing well One for the road and I tell myself to go home It's better than being alone Heart as cold as a block of ice Playing with fire and I don't think twice But I know I'm sippin' away my soul I don't wanna do this anymore Gotta pick myself up off the floor Let it rain Let it pour Let the tears come down like a waterfall I'd rather live with the pain than die Feeling nothing at all So come on Let it in 'Cause you can't feel love till you jump right in So whenever it hits me I'm ready to feel it again1 point -

"Cities are full with no-go zones" is exaggerated 'propaganda', but I have no doubt there are European cities where there are indeed neighbourhoods where, as an 'average European', you just don't want to walk around. Especially not if you're a woman, on your own, because that's against the 'law' certain people think counts there.1 point

Also, while it's great to have new nations, we must remember rule 6. (a) which was introduced for this edition. Any participant must have been registered on the forum at least 2 months before they take part in the contest OR (in case they don't fulfill this criteria) have shown a high level of activity in the forum in terms of posts and presence. Unfortunately that's not the case here.0 points -
Speaking of no go zones I present you the bottom of human evolution - "Hotel Paradise". This is an estate housing about 1500 habitants of gypsy origin in the town of Yambol. An unsuccessful attempt to integrate a community by the communist party in the dusk of communism in Bulgaria. In the movie the life of these people is described a bit more romantically than it actually is. De jure, they live and act like animals and as such are extremely dangerous to society. Enjoy.0 points
