  1. Sure, and you could be a monkey typing from Thailand for all I know. We can't live life without making any assumptions. (now, being more serious, Pablita is either: a real female name -it's an unusual one in spanish at least- or, more likely, a nickname for Paola, which also is a female name in all latin languages).

  3. So this is the part where I'm supposed to mumble about losing a "safe" gold right?

  4. What you are saying is basically "all medals which weren't almost completely certain are surprises". There are events in which you don't have three clear favorites and in some of those you'll make a medal, in some of those you won't. It's not surprising the Italian men's ski team didn't win a medal in the speed events but it also wouldn't have been surprising if they had won one. Same for the women in the gs. Seriously, calling brignone's medal a surprise is just ridiculous. Btw, Arndt Peiffer's gold medal is not a surprise to you but Windisch winning any medal is?

  5. Ragnhild had to ruin my perfect podium. I like her just fine, but she already has a silver medal as a surprise and Norway has plenty of medals, while Lichtenstein only depends on Tina.

  6. In a one game playoff, anything is possible. Germany did just beat Sweden after all. But Canada will be a bit tougher, and Canada will not be taking Germany so lightly. Or at least they shouldn't. Korea is not as good as Germany and while Canada dominated them, they had trouble scoring and gave up some good chances. I'm certainly not taking anything for granted. It's the Olympics. Crazy stuff happens all the time.

  18. I know it's incredible, I feel a lot of pressure and I hope not to end like Peiffer in Biathlon mixed relay I have a secret weapon but it's not bet sites (in Italy I don't think that bets on skeleton or skii jumping exist) but I will tell you at the end of the OG.

  25. Ok, thanks that's probably true. I was very moved by her tears of joy at the end, you could really feel all the pressure coming off. She promised to win a medal for her grandfather and she did it, now she can retire in peace.

  28. And we've got another scandal, this time in Korea! In the women's pursuit first round, Kim Bo-reum and Park Ji-woo are accused of not being enough of a team player. Noh Seon-yeong crossed the line last, 4 seconds behind them, so her time counted and they were out. Noh was crying afterwards, and instead of talking to her, Kim and Park basically ignored her and only coach Bob de Jong cared for Noh. Now a petition has been started, which has been signed by over half a million people, calling for Kim and Park to be kicked out of the team. Funny detail: a petition which has been signed by over 200k has to be discussed in parliament, so, here we go

  33. Personally I think of it in the same way as mass start in speed skating, but the exact opposite in terms of what should be different Mass start should be way longer to be taken serious. Team sprint should be way shorter to be taken serious (for example 6x500m, so you sort of have a double sprint, which makes more sense with two athletes).
